The Primary Purpose of the District as part of the AA
service structure is to carry the A.A. message to the sick and suffering
alcoholic.
The major function of the district is to provide
Public Information, Establish Programs and Co-operate with Professionals in the
Community. This includes:
Attendance by members at local Correctional
Facilities, Treatment Centres, Court and Domestic Violence Programs
Speaking at Schools, Hospitals, Rehabs and other
organisations
Providing Community Announcement tapes to Radio and TV
Stations
Advertisements and Notices in Newspapers
Providing Public Information and A.A. literature to:
Hospitals & A O D Units
Medical Centres
Council Libraries
Police Stations
Courts & Domestic Violence Units
Probation & Parole, Legal Aid
University & Tafe
Agencies: ie,
Headspace Youth Mental Health, Regional Youth Support
Service, Child & Health Services, D O C’s, Centrelink, New Horizons ,
Lifeline, Centacare, Salvation Army, St Vincents de
Paul, Pacific Link & Department of Housing, Women’s Refuges, Church Groups,
Health, Neighbourhood & Community Centres

the A.A. message into our local Community
